Effects of brain radiotherapy on cognitive performances in the non-human primate (marmoset)

Coordinator: Omar TOUZANI & Myriam BERNAUDIN (Caen)

Background

Mechanisms of action of radiotherapy on healthy brain tissue are not well understood. Existing studies essentially focused on rodents. However, those models present some limits preventing from transposing conclusions to human model.

Objectives

Evaluate the effect of brain radiotherapy on cognitive performances and on brain structure in a non-human primate (marmoset).

Study methodology

Cognitive tests and magnetic resonance imaging (functional and anatomical MRI) in marmoset after brain radiotherapy, completed by biological and immunohistological analyses.
